PEACH Health Ontario will be hosting our annual conference on May 21, 2026 at The David Braley Health Science Centre in Hamilton Ontario. The day will focus on fostering collaboration across health care, humanities, and social sciences to offer opportunities to strengthen agency, illuminate diverse perspectives, and cultivate holistic, person-centered models of care. This conference, titled, Stories for Health Systems Change: Mobilizing Climate Justice Narratives, will bring together leading experts in sustainability, planetary health, ethics, Indigenous studies, climate justice, and knowledge translation to explore how climate change is transforming healthcare delivery, and how human stories can drive cultural and structural change within the system.
This conference will convene community members, climate change experts, health and social service providers, researchers, policymakers, and artists to share perspectives through narrative and arts-based approaches, including multimedia, painting, and storytelling. It will center on four core themes:
- human experiences of climate change in healthcare, ethics under climate pressures, prioritizing vulnerable populations and patient dignity, and cultural shifts that align care with sustainability goals.
Aligned with PEACH Health Ontario’s mission to empower healthcare providers to take climate action, this conference strives to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange across sectors. The goal is to advance practical, justice-oriented solutions for environmental sustainability in primary care.
