An exciting opportunity is available for a Permanent, Full-Time Clinical Director as part of a collaborative, interprofessional team in Cobourg with the Northumberland Family Health Team (NFHT). The Clinical Director will be an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for the oversight and optimization of our Primary Care Programs and Services ensuring high-quality and efficient operations aligned with Clinical Best Practice. The successful candidate will be well organized with a good understanding of a broad array of clinical services, able to work both independently and within a team environment.
About Us: NFHT is a non-profit, primary health care organization providing over 26,000 patients with timely access to a comprehensive range of services and programs aimed at managing and preventing disease and improving health status. The inter-professional team includes family physicians and professional staff, including nurses and nurse practitioners, occupational and physical therapists, dietitians, social workers and a pharmacist, who work together to provide person-centred, effective, collaborative and integrated care. Accountability: The Clinical Director will report to the Executive Director. They will work closely with the Medical Director and the Practice Lead(s).
Supervision: The Clinical Director will manage the Interprofessional Healthcare Providers (IHPs).
Duties and Responsibilities may include:
- Leadership and mentorship of the IHP team to ensure high-quality, person-centered care, and professional and team growth
- Development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Clinical Programs and Services, including engagement in the Annual Operating Planning process
- Active engagement in the development and execution of Quality Improvement initiatives
- Provision of IHP oversight, including attendance and performance management, approval and recommendation of educational opportunities for clinical staff
- Represent the NFHT at the local level, engaging with our Ontario Health Team of Northumberland partners in the development and provision of primary care services and pathways
- May be required, on occasion, to attend meetings or events off-site, before or after regular working hours
- May be required to oversee Clinical activities at multiple sites

Must Haves:
- University Degree in Health Service Administration, Social Sciences, Business Administration or Regulated Health Professional with current registration from a college
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience
- System-level understanding of the Primary Care landscape in Ontario
- Demonstrated skills in the areas of leadership, program development, quality improvement, and community collaboration
- Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and nurture positive working relationships both within and outside of NFHT
- Current Ontario Drivers’ License and access to a reliable vehicle
- Basic CPR certification
You will stand out as a candidate if you also have:
- A Master’s Degree
- Previous clinical oversight experience in a primary care and/or interdisciplinary setting
- Advanced Privacy Training (PHIPA)
- Proficiency in the use of computers and electronic medical records systems
