The City of Kawartha Lakes Family Health Team (CKL FHT) is a publicly funded, patient-centred
primary care organization serving more than 25,000 patients across the City of Kawartha Lakes. We
are a growing, interprofessional team of approximately 45 healthcare professionals — physicians,
nurse practitioners, registered nurses, registered practical nurses, social workers, dietitian,
pharmacists, and medical receptionists — united by a shared commitment to the highest quality of
team-based care, health equity, and community well-being. With recent Ontario Health East approval
of our Interprofessional Care Team (IPCT) expansion — bringing $1.8 million in new funding — this
is an exciting moment to join our team. You will be part of a growing, dynamic, and collaborative
health care system deeply rooted in community, with a cutting-edge hospital (Ross Memorial
Hospital) and active specialist community.

The Opportunity
We are recruiting a skilled, compassionate Family Physician to join our Lindsay practice under the
blended salary model. This model provides:

(mental health counselling), dietitian and pharmacists care, foot care, and several family health
programs for your patients’ most common needs; and
✓ opportunities to engaged in other areas of practice e.g. palliative care team, after hours care,
obstetrics.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, continuous primary care to a rostered patient panel, including
  assessment, diagnosis, chronic disease management, and acute care to a final roster of 1,400
  patients
• Work collaboratively within a full interprofessional team — NPs, RNs, RPNs, social workers,
  dietitian, pharmacists — to deliver coordinated, seamless care
• Participate in same-day access and walk-in services for urgent and unattached patients
• Conduct health assessments, order and interpret investigations, prescribe medications, and
  provide follow-up care
• Perform minor procedures as appropriate to training and scope (wound care, suturing, joint
  injections, immunizations, etc.)
• Contribute to clinical programs including chronic disease prevention, mental health, prenatal
  care, cardiovascular health, cancer screening, and palliative care
• Engage in team huddles, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives
• Provide supervision and mentorship to learners and clinical staff as appropriate
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in EMR (PS Suite)
• Participate in after-hours and on-call coverage as scheduled and agreed upon
• Support patients in self-management and health promotion, including community outreach
  

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) with registration (or eligibility for registration) in good standing
  with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
• Certification in Family Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) —
  or eligible
• Current CMPA membership in good standing (or eligibility)
• Demonstrated commitment to community-based primary care, health equity, and patient-centred
  practice
• Experience with or genuine interest in interdisciplinary team collaboration
• Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and organizational skills
• Experience with chronic disease management, mental health, or marginalized populations considered
  an asset
• Bilingualism (English/French) an asset
  
  Compensation & Benefits
• Compensation is provided under Ontario Health (East) funding guidelines for the blended salary
  model, offering a competitive, stable annual salary with OHIP billing retained by the organization.
  The total compensation package includes:

Base Salary

$183,219.57 per annum (aligned with OMA/OMD blended salary benchmarks) + billable services
