Maple Family Health Team is hiring a Mental Health Counsellor to join our collaborative, primary care-based Mental Health Team. In this role, you’ll provide individual and group counselling for patients experiencing anxiety, depression, and situational distress—using evidence-based, compassionate approaches like CBT.


We’re looking for a skilled, regulated health professional who’s committed to patient-centered care and excited to work in a multidisciplinary environment.


What You'll Do:

  • Provide individual counselling within a primary care setting. Group counselling may be provided occasionally.
  • Conduct assessments and determine client readiness for psychotherapy
  • Use CBT and other evidence-based approaches to support positive client outcomes
  • As a valued member of the Mental Health Team, participate in planning and continuous improvement for Maple’s Mental Health program
  • Collaborate with a team of family physicians, psychiatrists, and allied health professionals
     

What We’re Looking For:

  • Registration (in good standing) with one of these colleges:
    • Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
    • College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
    • College of Registered Nurses of Ontario
    • College of Psychotherapists of Ontario (must hold a Master’s degree)
  • Authorized to perform psychotherapy without supervision
  • 3+ years of counselling experience in a mental health or primary care setting
  • Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and case management skills
  • Experience with CBT and/or other structured therapy approaches
  • Comfortable providing both individual and group therapy
