The practice of Dr. Nichole Currie, at the Haileybury Family Health Team, is seeking a permanent part-time Nurse Practitioner to help meet the health care needs of the practice. The practice includes family medicine clinic, prenatal clinic and obstetrical & gynecology consults.
The Haileybury Family Health Team is a supportive team, dedicated to providing excellent care to our patients in a warm, professional, respectful and inclusive environment. The Family Health Team consists of administrative staff, family physicians, nurse practitioner, registered nurses, social workers, psychologist, registered dietitian (virtual) and respiratory therapy.
Qualifications
• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Nurse Practitioner (Primary Health Care).
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner in primary care is preferred.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current professional liability insurance.
Salary
• Hourly Range: $62.45 - $68.94, depending on applicant’s previous clinical experience, plus in lieu of benefits/vacation.
Skills and Attributes
• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written. Proficiency in French is an asset.
• Strong knowledge and proficiency in chronic disease management, mental health, and the application of evidence-based practices in primary care.
• Excellent clinical, analytical, and problem-solving skills in managing primary care complex cases.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with strong leadership, organizational, and time management capabilities.
• Experience working independently and making clinical decisions without direct supervision and ensuring continuity of care.
• Proficient in using information technology and electronic medical records (EMR)
• Maintain privacy, confidentiality and document standards according to PHIPA (Personal Health Information Protection Act) and PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act).
Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide primary care services, including health assessments, examinations, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care.
• Implement patient care plans, including ordering laboratory tests, diagnostic procedures and prescribing therapies and medications within scope of practice.
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting care plans as needed to achieve optimal health outcomes.
• Counsel patients and their families on health care including health promotion, illness and disease.
• Collaborate and consult with members of the interdisciplinary health team.
• Assisting with reviewing and managing incoming results and prescription refills.
• Provide injections and perform appropriate procedures.
• Completion of specialist consults.
• Completion of medical and insurance forms.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Participate in ongoing quality monitoring and improvement initiatives of the practice.
• Complete ongoing professional development and CME for primary care medicine best practices and standards of care.
• Maintain active registration with the College of Nurse of Ontario.
• Occasional flexibility in workdays/hours to cover primary care practice during vacation time.
Additional Job Requirements
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. This position is in Haileybury ON, and the position requires working in office on site with some remote work possible. Ability to travel within the community for work-related purposes using your own vehicle with a current Ontario Driver’s License.
