POSITON SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse, under the direction of the Clinic Physician, will work collaboratively with After Hours Clinic staff and be responsible for performing nursing duties in accordance with Blue Sky AHC policies, professional nursing standards and required legislation.

• Strong understanding of ethical and legal responsibilities in protecting the privacy and confidentiality of information in accordance with:
o Personal Health Information Act, 2004 (PHIPA);
o The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Escort patients into examining rooms
• Assess and collect accurate and comprehensive patient-related information and document in electronic medical record system
• Communicate with the physician regarding patient needs and nursing assessments
• Assist the physician with any procedures and patient education
• Clean and turnover patient exam rooms
• Operate and monitor medical equipment (including vaccine fridge cold chain)
• Monitor supply levels and/or expiration of medical and clinic supplies
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
• Perform other associated duties as required

Education/Professional Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Certificate of Competence and current membership with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Current membership with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO)
• A minimum of two (2) years’ clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
