Speaker: Dr. Nancy Durand, MDCM, FRCSC
Bio: Dr Durand is an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University Of Toronto in Canada. She received her medical degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at McGill University. She is on staff at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Canada in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her clinical practice focuses on HPV and colposcopy. She speaks nationally and internationally about Human Papilloma Virus and HPV vaccination.
 
Objectives: 

  • Discuss HPV-related Head and Neck Cancer landscape in Canada
  • Discuss current immunization recommendations (National Advisory Committee)
  • Discuss the importance of immunization recommendations and communication strategies about vaccination
  • Discuss HPV prevention measures and how health care professionals can integrate HPV prevention recommendations in their clinical practice
  • Discuss the long-term impacts of the pandemic on school-based vaccine programs from a family practice and public health perspective

Please join us for a post-conference dinner and learning presentation with Dr. Nancy Durand. This session will focus on the current rise of head and neck cancers in Canada and an important update on the 2019-2029 cancer strategy. This is an exclusive learning session tailored to primary care teams in Ontario and offered only to AFHTO members and/or conference attendees. This session is a perfect way to end off the conference with your team and will be located at Leña Restaurante, a 5-minute walk from the conference centre! It will be available virtually for anyone not able to attend in person. The registration will be first come first served with limited spots available for in-person.
