Beyond Silence - Mental Health Training for Healthcare Workers

"Beyond Silence" is a 2-day, evidence-based workplace mental health training program held by McMaster University, led by peer educators for healthcare workers to build knowledge, skills, and resources to promote early intervention and support for psychological health and safety in the workplace. The program is based on best practices in contact-based education and is supported by a clinical trial completed with over 180 healthcare workers in Ontario. The focus, again, is on the mental health of healthcare workers in both clinical and non-clinical posts (e.g., admin support staff, human resources, housekeeping, healthcare providers, etc.)

This program has been developed over the past decade by researcher Dr. Sandra Moll at McMaster University who has worked on advancing, implementing and evaluating evidence-based mental health training that is customized for healthcare workers.  Funding from the Ontario Ministry of Labour  enables “Beyond Silence Mental Health Champion training” to be offered across the province.  This program is being offered in Toronto on January 14-15th, 2019
