Psychologist – Couchiching FHT (Orillia)

Position:  Permanent Full-Time Psychologist Reports To:  Executive Director Position Summary: The purpose of the Psychologist is to evaluate, diagnose, treat and study behaviour and mental processes to provide mental health care including counselling for patients and their families.  The psychologist acts as a resource to, and works in collaboration with the members of the Couchiching Family Health Team. Skills, Knowledge Requirements:
  • Experience in CBT with mood, and anxiety disorder;
  • Experience with behavioural medicine patients preferred;
  • Experience in inter-professional health care teams;
  • Knowledge of community services and resources preferred;
  • Experience with clinical training and supervision preferred;
  • Evidence of skills in establishing effective interpersonal relationships and conflict resolution;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to be self-directed, autonomous and to adapt to changes and unpredictability;
  • Ability to function independently and interdependently with a diversity of health care team members; and
  • Demonstrated skills with psychological treatment of adult, adolescents and their families, both individually and in groups.
Education/Specific Job Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in Psychology;
  • Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the College of Psychologists of Ontario; and
  • Proof of professional liability insurance.
  • Minimum 2 years recent experience in Child, Adolescent and Family counselling;
  • Experienced in psychological assessment, diagnoses, treatment, and consultation with a range of mental health issues; and
Equipment/Computer Skills:
  • Familiarity with a PC operating system environment; and
  • Clinical documentation in EMR, Practice Solutions an asset.
