Job Title
The Board of Directors for The East Elgin Family Health Team seeks a new Executive Director.
The Executive Director provides overall leadership and management to the organization and interprets and implements Board policies and strategic direction. This position reports to the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a resource to the development, and lead the implementation of the strategic plan and policies as set by the Board of Directors.
- Provide resources and advice to the Board of Directors to support their governance responsibilities.
- Act in cooperation with the Board of Directors as the Team’s representative.
- Ensure the development and implementation of an operational plan and policies.
- Ensure that the general principles of the organization are being met in the day-to-day operations and programming.
- Ensure adequate levels of staff to meet the operational needs of the organization by attracting, hiring, developing and maintaining competent staff.
- Develop and sustain a productive and inclusive work environment.
- Develop and manage the financial resources of the organization by monitoring financial records, overseeing the administration of benefits, and ensuring expenditures conform to the approved budget.
- Ensure confidentiality and privacy law compliance through the development, maintenance and auditing of a comprehensive system of corporate, human resources, financial and client care records.
- Ensure development and implementation of evaluation systems related to all aspects of agency function.
- Develop and maintain positive and strategic partnerships with funders, community organizations and other health and social service institutions.
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree from a recognized university in a relevant discipline or combination of an undergraduate degree with at least five years senior management experience.
- Five or more years' of progressive management experience and responsibility in a health or social services setting.
- Successful history of budget negotiations, program administration and financial development.
- Experience in organizational development and strategic planning and implementation.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with staff, Board of Directors, other health-based and business organizations, and government agencies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
