Methadone and buprenorphine maintenance treatments are in more demand than ever with clients seeking treatment throughout the province. These treatments are complex undertakings for healthcare providers, including pharmacists, and there are many types of clients with multiple co-morbidities and issues. As such, continuing education is essential to maintain high levels of service and professionalism, and to provide optimal patient care.

This series of complimentary, live webinars are designed to inform and update pharmacists in certain specialized areas of opioid substitution therapy, including basic requirements for methadone dispensing and harm reduction strategies for opioid dependence/addiction. Topics to enhance skills and knowledge, as well as support daily practice are also offered, such as basics of buprenorphine and prevention of methadone dispensing errors.

These complimentary webinars are made available through funding from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
