The Ontario Association of Non-Profit Homes & Services for Seniors (OANHSS) represents not-for-profit providers of long-term care, services and housing for seniors. Members include municipal, charitable and non-profit long-term care homes, seniors’ housing projects and community service agencies. OANHSS member organisations serve over 36,000 long-term care residents annually and operate over 8,000 seniors’ housing units across the province.
From April 19-21, OANHSS will be hosting its Annual General Meeting and Convention at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto. The event is expected to attract professionals from across Ontario who serve the long-term care needs of seniors.
This is a year you won’t want to miss as we officially launch our new AdvantAge Ontario brand at a Convention packed with more educational opportunities than ever before. No other event provides this level of education to professionals caring for seniors in Ontario – it is the place to be for sector leaders and those on the frontline.
New this year is a full-day pre-Convention session for long term care board and committee of management members. This is the only education of its kind that deals specifically with the provision of long term care from a governance perspective. The pre-Convention program also offers a session on curbing workplace incivility so that it does not erode the hard work put into delivering quality care.
Opening keynote speaker Neil Pasricha shows the way to happier employees and workplaces with his talk on “The Happiness Equation.” Marketing guru Terry O’Reilly’s keynote on “The Power of Branding,” provides context for our own rebranding and its broader value for members.
