On June 2, 2016, the bill containing the proposed Patients First Act, 2016 was introduced in the Ontario Legislature. If passed by the Legislature, this bill would support access to high quality, integrated care for patients in Ontario, no matter where they live.
The introduction of legislation followed the December 2015 release of Patients First: A Proposal to Strengthen Patient-Centred Health Care in Ontario and feedback from thousands of Ontarians on the proposal. Patients First: Reporting Back on the Proposal to Strengthen Patient-Centred Health Care in Ontario provides a summary of what was heard from Ontarians, what was have proposed to do through Bill 210, and what will be done to move forward. A webinar was held on June 10th, following introduction of the bill, to provide an overview and address questions from webinar participants (archived video here).
The MOHLTC would like to invite you to a webinar for an update on the status of Patients First and implementation planning activities underway. The webinar will be hosted by Dr. Bob Bell, Deputy Minister of Health and Long-Term Care. Participants will be encouraged to engage through a question and answer period.
The webinar will take place on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 1:00-2:00pm and can be accessed via this link. No RSVP is required; however it is recommended that you log on 20 minutes in advance of the start time.
The webinar is open to all who wish to participate, so please feel free to share this invitation with others who may be interested.
