AdvantAge Ontario is inviting proposals to present at our 2019 Annual General Meeting and Convention, taking place May 6-8, 2019 in Toronto. This event is a great opportunity to share your knowledge and expertise with senior staff from the long term care, seniors’ housing and community service sectors.
They welcome and encourage all AdvantAge Ontario members as well as speakers in the academic community, consultants and others providing services in the seniors’ care, housing and community services sectors to share innovative and practical ideas and programs, research or other relevant content.
Your audience will include:
Food services/dietary managers
Environmental services managers
Community service managers
Concurrent sessions range from 60, 75 and 90 minutes in length and are organized into the following four streams: Care and Services
Advancements, best practices and other innovations that improve care and services to residents across long term care, community and housing.
Integration and Collaboration
Integration models, initiatives or projects that coordinate cross-sectoral agencies, programs, services, and care delivery.
Management and Operations
Organization and operational issues, risk/financial management, developing strong and effective staff teams, and health and safety.
Governance and Leadership
Governance perspectives, legislative and legal obligations, funding and reporting, accountability, provincial quality initiatives, leadership development, and public relations and reputation management.
Submissions should incorporate adult learning techniques and interactive presentation methods. Keep in mind that long term care refers to the full continuum – long term care homes, seniors’ housing and supportive housing and community-based services. It should be clear whether your presentation is intended for a specific sector or is broad enough to be applicable to the entire continuum. Commercial Content
Sessions are intended to educate and support learning. Submissions that promote a particular product, service or company will not be accepted.
All submissions must be submitted through this Call for Presentations website.
You may submit more than one proposal for consideration, as an individual, co-presenter or as part of a panel.
All presenters are required to provide AdvantAge Ontario with an electronic copy of any handout materials in advance for review and posting. These handouts will be included on a Convention app for all conference registrants to download and print.AdvantAge Ontario does not generally provide fees or honorariums for speakers or cover travel or other costs.
