The Prince Edward Family Health Team is running a four day leaders’ training course in chronic pain self management. This course is invaluable to clinicians and those persons suffering chronic pain and interested in helping patients with chronic pain. It is recommended (but not required that clinical staff attending bring a layperson interested in becoming a leader).
The program is a customization of the Stanford Chronic Disease Management Program developed by Dr Sandy LaForte out of Memorial University of Newfoundland. The course will be offered from the beautiful Isiah Tubbs resort in Prince Edward County and will run Wednesday May 4th/Thursday May 5th and Tuesday May 10th/Wednesday May 11th. The cost of the four days of training is $1000 for registered health professionals and $400 for chronic pain patients interested in becoming trainers. Lunch is included in the cost but participants are required to make their own arrangement for accomodation and other meals.
