The Thames Valley Family Health Team is one of the largest family health teams in Ontario. With more than 110 physicians across 18 sites within London, and Middlesex, Oxford and Elgin counties, the Thames Valley Family Health Team is committed to providing comprehensive inter-collaborative primary health care to over 155,000 patients.  Over the past five years, our affiliated physicians have taken on more than 22,000 Ontarians who did not previously have a family doctor.

Family Health Team staff includes nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, dietitians, occupational therapists and other health care professionals who will work with physicians as an interdisciplinary team, each using their experience and skills to provide patient centred care.  For more information about our organization, please visit www.thamesvalleyfht.ca.

The Respiratory Therapist (RT) will play an integral role in the care of patients of the Thames Valley FHT.  The RT will assist the FHT in achieving its vision and mission.  The RT will support patient care and the delivery of programs, with a focus on chronic respiratory disease.

The RT is to practice within the scope and according to the standards of practice as outlined in the following documents:

  • Ontario College of Respiratory Therapists’ Standards of Practice (www.crto.on.ca)
  • Ontario Regulated Health Professionals Act (1991)

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with the Respiratory Therapist designation
  • Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO)
  • Certified respiratory educator (CRE) designation is an asset.
  • Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated clinical experience
  • Work effectively, both independently and as part of an inter-disciplinary team
  • Proven flexibility and ability to adapt to change
  • Experience in the use of EMR, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to own method of reliable transportation.
