Registered Practical Foot Care Nurse

The Thames Valley Family Health Team is one of the largest family health teams in Ontario. With more than 110 physicians across 18 sites within London/Middlesex, Oxford and Elgin counties, we are committed to providing comprehensive collaborative primary health care to over 155,000 patients.

Our staff include nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social workers, pharmacists, dietitians, occupational therapists and other health care professionals who will work with physicians as an interdisciplinary team, each using their experience and skills to provide patient centred care.  For more information about our organization, please visit


  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Certification from an accredited Advanced Foot Care course in Ontario
  • Minimum of 3 years of foot care experience working in a community-based setting
  • Experience working with a diverse population; patients with chronic disease, vascular disease, and those listed as high risk for foot complications
  • Ability to work independently as well effectively part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Knowledge and experience working collaboratively with community resources; referring to external foot care services and advocate for patients as appropriate (coordinating access to orthotics and other aids)
  • Experience working with patients to establish an individualized foot care plan
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficiency in the use of computer and previous experience with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Must be capable of establishing positive interpersonal relationships and able to work as an effective team member
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, valid car insurance with regular access to a reliable vehicle and willing to travel to all sites
