The Thames Valley Family Health Team is one of the largest family health teams in Ontario.  With more than 100 physicians across 16 sites within London, and Middlesex, Oxford and Elgin counties, the Thames Valley Family Health Team is committed to providing comprehensive inter-collaborative primary health care to over 155,000 patients.  Over the past five years, our affiliated physicians have taken on more than 22,000 Ontarians who did not previously have a family doctor.

Family Health Team staff includes nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, dietitians and other health care professionals who will work with physicians as an interdisciplinary team, each using their experience and skills to provide patient centred care.  For more information about our organization, please visit www.thamesvalleyfht.ca.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology
  • Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
  • Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience with children and adolescents in a family medicine and/or mental health care setting.
  • Experienced in psychological assessment, diagnoses, treatment, and consultation with a range of mental health issues in adults and adolescents.  Preference will be given to those individuals certified to conduct Psychoeducational Assessments for ADHD.
  • Demonstrated skills with psychological treatment of adult, adolescents, and their families, both individually and in groups
  • Proof of professional liability insurance

Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience in CBT with mood, and anxiety disorders preferred
  • Experience with behavioural medicine patients preferred
  • Experience in inter-professional health care teams
  • Knowledge of community services and resources preferred
  • Experience with clinical training and supervision preferred
  • Evidence of skills in establishing effective interpersonal relationships and conflict resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience working in a hospital setting preferred
  • Ability to be self-directed, autonomous and to adapt to changes and unpredictability
  • Ability to function independently and interdependently with a diversity of health care team members
