Elliot Lake Family Health Team

The Elliot Lake Family Health Team (ELFHT) is looking for a physiotherapist to join our team.  We are a collaborative group practice located in beautiful Elliot Lake.  Our team consists of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, a pharmacist, a dietitian, a respiratory therapist, a social worker and a host of support staff.

We are looking for a physiotherapist with the following attributes:

  • Demonstrates outstanding professional, organizational, and communication skills
  • Communicates clearly and with sensitivity
  • Uses empathetic listening techniques to understand clients
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates clear, rational, and defensible clinical reasoning
  • Maintains and complies with client confidentiality and integrity on all matters
  • Interacts in a positive manner, and corresponds well with referring providers, clinical staff, office staff, clients, and management
  • Bilingualism is an asset (French)

Applicants must have a Masters in Physical Therapy (MPT) degree from an accredited university and be licensed and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.  Any post-graduate or continuing education in health promotion, disease prevention and chronic disease management is considered an asset.

Applicants will also have at least one year (ideally three or more years) of community, hospital or private practice experience.  Applicants must demonstrate ability to conduct assessments, identify and implement care plans, document health records and communicate and collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team.

Applicants are also expected to be able to prioritize, manage time effectively and be flexible in a very active work environment.  They are also expected to comply with practice standards from the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, critically appraise primary literature and use best practice health care literature databases.
